About Asylum

Defunct Goth/Metal rock band from Reading, UK. Formed in the late eighties by Mark Soby in England. After various line up changes, the band became Mark Soby (vocals), Adam Perry (drums), Dave Blomberg (guitars) and Paul Burnel (bass). They signed to the German 'Houses in Motion' label and recorded 2 albums. The first, 'Suckling the Mutant Mother' was produced by the band and the late Robb Heaton from New Model Army at Sawmills Studio in Cornwall, England. Then in 1992 'Into the Web' was recorded in New York State USA with Brad Morrison. A third album entitled 'Vent' was recorded in England following Paul and Dave's departure after which the group disbanded. n
