Review by Денис Бондарь

Attila Csihar's album, The Beast Of, is a masterful display of his vocal prowess and experimental approach to music. The album features a diverse range of tracks that showcase Csihar's ability to transition seamlessly between haunting, atmospheric melodies and guttural, intense screams.

The album's opening track, "The Beast Of," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its ominous, foreboding atmosphere. Csihar's vocals are layered and distorted, creating an otherworldly sound that draws the listener in. "Satanic Black Mass" is another standout track, with its driving rhythm and Csihar's aggressive, almost demonic vocals.

While some tracks on the album are more experimental and avant-garde, such as "The Void" and "Inferno," others are more straightforward and accessible, such as "Necromancer" and "Necromantique." This balance of experimentation and accessibility makes The Beast Of a captivating and engaging listen from start to finish.

About Attila Csihar

Attila Csihar (born March 29th, 1971) is a Hungarian extreme/black metal artist, best known for his vocal work with the Norwegian band Mayhem. His career started with the Hungarian metal band Tormentor, which reached a cult status in black metal circles even without major label releases. In 1992, following the death of Mayhem vocalist Dead, Attila was invited to perform vocals on their upcoming De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas recording. The album became one of the quintessential albums of the genre, even though some fans consider Attilas vocals out of place. After Mayhem Attila continued to work in various experimental projects, such as Plasma Pool, Aborym and Korog. In 2004, he recorded vocals for the song Decay2 (Nihils Maw) by American Doom/Drone Metal band Sunn O))) and also performed live with the band on their European tour. He briefly performed with Keep of Kalessin as well. In 2004 Attila left Aborym to rejoin Mayhem as the bands new singer after their previous singer, Maniac, left. His final contribution to Aborym was performing lead vocals on the song Man Bites God on their 2006 album Generator. Recently, Attila has joined Greg Anderson of Sunn O))) and Oren Ambarchi in a new project called Burial Chamber Trio.

Plasma Pool was/is totally underrated. It'd be great if Attila and the rest of the gang were to meet up again for another album, but what is available right now to listen to is just classic.

Fun Fact: Attila told this in an interview recently that this band broke up because one of the members owed shitloads of money to the mob, as he couldn't pay some guys visited him and took all the synths and gear of the band and of course they didn't have money to get new instruments...
