Review by Molly Moore

Soulmass' album The Weakness Of Virtue is a stunning display of the band's musical prowess and creativity. From start to finish, the album takes listeners on a journey through a variety of moods and emotions, all anchored by Soulmass' signature brand of heavy, atmospheric metal.

The album's opening track, "The Awakening", sets the tone with its haunting, atmospheric intro before launching into a powerful, driving riff. From there, the album moves seamlessly through tracks like "The Serpent's Tongue" and "The Fall", which showcase the band's ability to blend crushing heaviness with melodic hooks and intricate instrumentation.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Absence", which features a guest appearance from vocalist Mikko Kotamäki of Swallow the Sun. Kotamäki's haunting vocals add an extra layer of emotion to the already powerful track, making it one of the album's most memorable moments.

This band is stupidly underrated. Even if I wasn't a huge Dark Souls fan, Soulmass is one of the best metal bands to come out of the last 10 years.

Kinda reminds me of Edge of Sanity and Dawn of Disease with Dark Souls inspired lyrics.

I stumbled across this by accident. I love Dark Souls and I love death metal, so I come across this and BAM! Best of both worlds.

Damn this is so good, the vocals are great and it’s very slow and depressing. It’s like slow melodic death metal.
